Check it out!

We've had lots of classes through the library to check out/issue one or two (or more) books.
Book Club has started for some really enthusiastic readers so well done to those people. I think we told you about our 'poster girl' Faimafili who issued over 300 books last year!
The best thing of all is that her reading age went from 7 yrs to 10 years!!!! WOW! In the photo she is holding the Mainfreight Cup from 'Books in Homes' which she received at the end of last year. Congratulations!

I know that Room 22 is reading my blog for Newsboard today...

Bonjour tout le monde!
Did you know I went to school in France for a month? I stayed with a lovely family on a farm. I ate snails and chevre chaud (warm goats cheese) and laungostine (like a small crayfish YUM!) but I passed on the steak tartare (raw minced meat with a raw egg on top!!!)...
I'll be teaching French again this year so have a think about which language you'd like to learn. We'll tell you more about this soon.

I love computers and all of the cool things that we can do with them. It's hard to imagine how I'd manage without a computer now. I use mine for communicating with family & friends overseas and I often check out facebook, write emails and use Skype to talk to my daughter in London and my sister in Vanuatu.
How about all of the crazy, amazing and wonderful things on Youtube?! I love this guy Arthur Benjamin who is a Maths magician...
Can you think of ways that you could use blogs, video, Youtube, other digital technologies & social media sites to help you with your learning? I look forward to hearing your ideas.

See you all in the library soon!
